Here at Calderdale Uncovered, we’re absolutely buzzing! For a while now, we’ve been dreaming, planning, and (let’s be honest) working our socks off behind the scenes on something truly special for our incredible community. If you love Calderdale as much as we do – its stunning valleys, vibrant towns, and most importantly, its amazing people and businesses – then you’re going to want to hear this!

We started Calderdale Uncovered with a passion for sharing the best of our unique corner of Yorkshire. But we’ve always felt there was more we could do. More ways to connect people, celebrate local life, and make it easier for everyone – residents, visitors, and businesses alike – to discover everything Calderdale has to offer.

Well, the wait is almost over! We are thrilled to announce that we’re building some fantastic new features right into the heart of the Calderdale Uncovered website:

1. Your Go-To Calderdale Events Listings!

Ever scrolled endlessly trying to find out what’s happening this weekend? Missed out on that cool gig, craft fair, or community workshop because you didn’t hear about it in time? We feel your pain! That’s why we’re creating our very own comprehensive Events Listings page!

Imagine one single place where you can find everything from live music and theatre nights to farmers’ markets, family fun days, charity fundraisers, workshops, guided walks, and so much more happening right across Calderdale. We want this to be THE hub for discovering activities, planning your week, and never missing out again. We’ll be working hard to make it easy to browse, search, and maybe even submit your own community events in the future!

2. Discover Our Towns & Support Local Businesses!

Calderdale isn’t just one place; it’s a tapestry woven from unique and characterful towns and villages. From the buzz of Halifax and Hebden Bridge to the charm of Todmorden, Sowerby Bridge, Brighouse, Elland, Ripponden (and everywhere in between!), each place has its own story, its own vibe, and its own fantastic local businesses.

We want to celebrate that! We’re building dedicated pages for our local towns, offering insights into what makes each one special. But here’s the really exciting part: these town pages will seamlessly incorporate and champion our brilliant local businesses! We want to make it super easy for you to find that perfect independent shop, café, restaurant, tradesperson, or local service right in your area or when you’re exploring a different part of Calderdale. It’s all about strengthening our local economy and making it simpler than ever to shop local and support the people who make our communities thrive.

Building Our Calderdale Community Hub

Ultimately, our goal is to transform Calderdale Uncovered into more than just a website. We want it to be a dynamic, useful, and engaging community resource hub. A place where locals can find activities, information, and ways to connect. A platform where local businesses can reach their community. A space where we can all share our love for Calderdale and work together to make it an even better place to live, work, and play.

We’re pouring our hearts (and lots of late-night hours!) into building these new sections, making sure they’re user-friendly, informative, and genuinely valuable for YOU.
